"The Zebro Foundation, committed to upholding the fundamental rights of common citizens, has taken a significant step in addressing a long-standing issue. The 17-year-old SRA redevelopment project in Ghatla came to the attention of Mr. Aashish Gadkari, Chairman of Zebro Foundation.
Residents of Ghatle village in Chembur approached Mr. Yogesh Patil, urging his assistance in engaging the Zebro Foundation to resolve this enduring problem.
In response, the Zebro Foundation's action committee met with representatives from these societies to gain insights into their challenges and concerns.
On May 15, 2023, a one-day DHARNA (protest) was scheduled at the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) office, the government-appointed agency responsible for overseeing such issues. The Nirmal Nagar Bandra Police Station facilitated a special meeting with Mr. Satish Lokhande, the CEO of SRA, to address the matter.
A comprehensive meeting ensued, led by Chairman Shri Aashishji Gadkari, along with Zebro Foundation members and representatives of affected Ghatla village residents. After a thorough discussion, Mr. Satish Lokhande pledged full cooperation in promptly resolving the issue.
In the presence of Mr. Aashish Gadkari, Vice President, Mr. Yogesh Patil, Shailesh Panchal, Ashok Anuse, office bearers of various societies, and the affected residents of Ghatle village SRA, the Zebro Foundation initiated its fight to secure housing for the people of Ghatle village, marking a significant step in addressing their long-delayed housing needs."
